The Google Aqualogic Search
May 24th, 2007 | MichaelMC+A is announcing the availablility of the Google Aqualogic Search(GAS). The GAS allows the Google Search Appliance to index data stored in BEA’s Aqualogic Portal and serve search requests from Aqualogic portlets.
Key features of GAS are:
- Works with both Google Search Appliance’s and BEA’s security model
- Content security is controlled by Aqualogic’s security model.
- Unlimited scalability for BEA Portal environment
- Can index Knowledge Directory, Content Server and Publisher
- Can integrate within Aqualogic as a portlet to allow harnessing of the Google search algorithm and keeping your custom Aqualogic interface.
The Architecture
GAS includes a Search Portlet that is deployed as a standard Aqualogic remote web service. A middle tier application brokers security requests from Google Search Appliance (GSA) using Aqualogic Interaction Development Kit (formerly EDK). Content from Knowledge Directory, Collaboration and Publisher repositories are indexed by the GSA. Additional document meta data can be included in the GSA to support more intelligent searching.
Installation
GAS can be installed in just a few hours by our professional services team. Customization of the Search Portlet is accomplished using XSL style sheets.
